Registry 101
Yesterday Christian and I went window shopping at Macy's and Crate and Barrel for our future wedding registry! It was fun to look at all the cool stuff and think about all the possibilities, but it was also a bit daunting to realize we will soon have to make so many decisions!!! Wow, can you say overwhelming for this Libra Bride?!?! Not to mention the fact that I kept asking myself "Do we need that?" "Do we want that?" "Will we like this in 5 years? 10 years?" "Is that too trendy? Too boring?" "Will that work in any house?" Geez.... At least we agree that basics and simple designs will stand the test of time!! I guess you will just have to wait and see what we pick out... ;)

Registering is so fun! I wish we could do it again. Which brings me to my comment, from the perspective of someone who registered 7 years ago: for your daily stuff, get something you like but also something that is inexpensive. Reasoning: no matter how much you like it, seven years down the road you will be bored with it and will want to buy new stuff, and you'll feel more guilty doing that if it was pricey. My other suggestions are: (1) be bold in your kitchen and household appliances - color is fun and it's the easiest way to make a statement in your kitchen without decorating properly; (2) you CAN have too much barware. It's cool and all but it takes up a lot of room and gets used rarely (with exception of wine glasses - never too many of those!).
ReplyDeleteHA!! Thank you for such sage advice! There are a lot of decisions to make, WOW!!! But I think we are going simple for everyday dishes, etc... And we have bar stuff already, but maybe we'll replace a few things (and pass old bar stuff on).
ReplyDeleteI just don't know what to do for colors for kitchen appliances! It's hard to pick out colors for a kitchen you haven't met yet! A lot of what we have now is Red but I don't know if we should keep with that theme or mix colors? hummmm....
